Lawn Mowing & Trimming: Height of cut will depend on type of grass and local weather conditions. If it rains heavily or we experience extended dry periods, we may mow more or less than usual to keep a neat appearance.

  • We don't collect or bag the grass clipping, our mower uses mulching blades to let the clipping fall back into the lawn. Our "recycler" or "mulching" mower is a rotary mower that cuts clippings into small pieces and redistributes them uniformly back into the lawn for decomposition.
  • Our mower blades are sharpen every week to give the best quality cut of the grass.
  • Grass should be mowed tall and clippings should be returned to the lawn to produce a healthy lawn. For cool-season grasses, we set our mower at 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 inches, and for warm-season grasses we use a setting from 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 inches.
  • When we can maintain the desired mowing height with regularly scheduled mowing, taking no more than one-third of the total leaf area off at any single mowing, these small clippings fall back into the turf canopy and actually benefit the lawn. As these clippings decompose they return nutrients back to the turf and feed beneficial microorganisms. It is when we don’t, or can’t, mow regularly that clippings become too long to fall back into the turf canopy and becomes “hay” on top of our lawns.

3. Clean-up: All debris (small twigs, limbs, etc) will be removed from the grass areas prior to mowing. Excess grass clippings will be raked or bagged as needed to maintain a neat appearance. All leaves and miscellaneous debris will be collected and removed from the entire property as part of the clean-up.
